Robot Browser

Kiosk browser for industrial terminals

Turns a touchscreen terminal into a single-purpose appliance: two fixed pages, no address bar, and nothing to wander off into.

Two fixed pages

Transaction page and local web UI on dedicated buttons. No address bar, no history, nowhere to wander.

Sign-on by card, badge or code

RFID cards, scanned barcodes and keypad codes all reach the same check against your SCADA server.

Locks itself, signs them off

An unattended terminal locks after a set time and closes the worker's session, including at shutdown.

Network setup built in

WiFi scanning and connection, wired IP configuration and a time server, all from the toolbar.

Server status at a glance

The SCADA connection, the station name and the last contact time, without leaving the page.

On-screen keyboard

Three layouts sized for the panel it runs on, from a 7-inch terminal to a 19-inch panel PC.

Managed from the server

Which pages it shows, whether it locks and which application runs are set centrally and applied without a visit.

Build pages without hardware

Developer profiles reproduce each terminal's exact viewport on a PC, so a page can be laid out before a terminal exists.

A browser on a factory floor is a liability. It has an address bar, a back button to somewhere it should not be, and a settings screen an operator can reach by accident. Robot Browser has none of that: it shows the two pages a terminal is for — the transaction page your SCADA server serves, and the terminal’s own web interface — and it is very difficult to leave.

Everything a terminal needs is on the terminal. WiFi setup, wired addressing, the time server, system information and the SCADA connection state are one tap away on a toolbar sized for gloved hands, with an on-screen keyboard that needs no keyboard attached. A terminal whose network has died can be fixed where it stands.

Mark a terminal secure on the server and it asks who is there before showing anything. A worker presents a card, scans a badge or keys their code; the terminal checks with the server, opens their session, and closes it the moment the terminal is left alone. Signing off is not something anyone has to remember.
