Robot on Android — the A100 terminal app.
Robot on Android
Robot-A100 brings the Radical terminal to Android hardware. It behaves like the fixed Robot terminals — a SCADA client that finds its server, takes its configuration, and runs as whatever the operation needs: scanner, scale, keypad, printer or forklift panel — but on a phone, tablet or rugged handheld.
Because it drives the same serial readers and scales and talks to the same
robot-api server, an Android device slots into an existing deployment without
a separate integration. Currently in field trials — get in touch to
talk about a pilot on your site.
SCADA terminal
The same server, on a phone or tablet
Robot-A100 is a SCADA client: it connects to the robot-api server over JSON/HTTP, receives its configuration profile, and operates as a terminal — the same operation model as the fixed Robot terminals, on Android hardware.
Multi-mode input
Scanner, scale, keypad, printer, forklift panel
One app, many roles. It runs as a barcode scanner, a weighing terminal, a keypad, a label-printing station or a forklift panel — driven by the profile the server hands it, with an adaptive keypad that reshapes to the task.
Serial & USB hardware
Talks to the readers and scales already on site
A bundled serial-port library speaks UART and USB serial across FTDI, CDC-ACM, CH34x, CP21xx and Prolific chips, so an Android device drives the same card readers, scanners and weighing indicators as the rest of the fleet.
Modern Android UI
Jetpack Compose, Material 3
Built with Jetpack Compose and Material 3 dynamic theming — LCD-style displays, LED indicators and an adaptive keypad (2, 4, 6 or 15 keys), sized for the device in hand. Android 9 and later.
